#Memories

Thirteen years ago,
On this day,
You were there,
And then you were not.

I have been remiss,
 In carrying out,
What i should have done,
But I did not.

An ocean of foresight,
Patience & benevolence,
What did i learn,
From your noble presence?

Did i hurt you father,
Did i disappoint much?
Being your daughter,
How could i have been thus?

All this is now,
So much vapor in the winds,
Moments pass,
But the memories pinch.

  11. I can relate to the lines Indu .... I have always been a daddy's girl and every small thing reminds me of him . A father always holds a special place in a girl's life .

  13. Lovely tribute from a loving daughter. Fathers are the pillars on which we build our childhood and youth, even those who are not directly involved with parenting as used to happen often in the olden days. Just their presence in the background would be all the reassurance one would need.

  14. Very true they are the foundation of our whole being--how one yearns for their benign presence.

  15. A father can never be replaced in a daughter's life. Beautiful words and the thought of not being able to talk to one's father is just gut wrenching.
